The 4Cs are for everyone

Every diamond in the world is evaluated on four universal parameters — Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat together known as the 4Cs, the global language of diamond quality. Understanding them takes only a few minutes, but it puts you completely in control of your purchase. The 4Cs help you compare stones with confidence, balance beauty with budget, and know exactly what you're paying for no expertise required, no fine print, no guesswork.

Diamond Color

In fine diamonds, the most prized color is actually the absence of color. Diamonds are graded on an international scale from D (completely colorless) to Z (visible yellow or brown tint). The less color a diamond holds, the more freely light passes through it resulting in a purer, icier, more brilliant white. The difference between neighbouring grades is subtle to the untrained eye, yet it meaningfully shapes both beauty and price. Colorless (D–F) diamonds offer pristine perfection, while near colorless grades deliver a white look at exceptional value and we'll always help you find the grade where brilliance and budget meet.

Near-colorless. Color noticeable when compared to diamonds of better grades, but offers excellent value.

Diamond Clarity

Clarity measures how free a diamond is from its natural birthmarks microscopic internal features called inclusions and surface marks called blemishes formed as the crystal grows. Evaluated under 10x magnification, the clarity scale runs from Flawless (FL) down to Included (I3). Here's the reassuring truth: most inclusions are completely invisible to the naked eye. What truly matters is choosing an "eye-clean" diamond one whose characteristics can't be seen without magnification so light travels through the stone uninterrupted. Every diamond at Gauri Jewellers is hand checked to be eye-clean, ensuring nothing comes between you and pure, uninterrupted sparkle

Diamond Cut

Cut is the most important of the 4Csand the only one shaped entirely by human skill. It doesn't refer to the shape of your diamond, but to the precision of its angles, proportions and facets. A masterfully cut diamond captures light as it enters, reflects it within the stone, and returns it to your eye as dazzling brilliance, fire and sparkle. A poorly cut diamond, no matter how large or flawless, leaks light from its sides and looks flat and lifeless. That's why at Gauri Jewellers, every diamond is selected for superior cut first so your stone doesn't just shine, it performs

Diamond Carat

Carat is the most familiar of the 4Cs and the most misunderstood. It measures a diamond's weight, not its size: one carat equals exactly 0.2 grams. Two diamonds of identical carat weight can look noticeably different depending on their shape and cut, because a well-cut stone maximizes surface area and light performance, often appearing larger than a heavier but poorly cut gem. A smart insider tip: diamonds just below popular thresholds (0.90 instead of 1.00 carat) often cost significantly less with no visible difference in size. Whatever weight you choose, we make sure your diamond carries it
beautifully.
